Documentation for Moodle is available for both online and off line viewing. The Online versions (in English and French) may be more recent than the downloadable offline versions.
This Moodle Features course provides examples of the various resources and activities that are part of the core development of Moodle. Additional third party features, specific to the Nova Scotia build, would be added to demonstrate those capabilities as well. See the The Sandbox course for a demonstration of many of these features.

As a student, you will share your creations and will communicate with each other on the internet on a regular basis. We are glad to have you aboard! - Christene
Visual Art 11 is a wonderful course that builds upon students' art-making skills through the exploration of materials, technologies, art careers, and processes at a greater depth than in Art 10.
Students will explore water color, acrylic, colored pencil, low relief print making, three dimentional kinetic sculpture, and digital manipulation, while collaborating with classmates in a supportive and constructive way within the virtual classroom environment.

Chemistry is a part of everyone's life. It is the study of the composition, properties, and interactions of matter. Chemical knowledge advances within a societical context, and it is important for students to realize that the principles and laws of chemistry are the results of extensive scientific observations and analysis and that, although science is a powerful tool, it also has limitations. The high school chemistry program emphasizes the science themes: change, diversity, energy, matter, and systems. These thems provide a means for showing the connections within the science program and provide a framework for teachers to show students how individual sections of the program relate to the big ideas in science. The program encourages students to participate in lifelong learning about chemistry and to appreciate chemistry as a scientific endeavour with practical impact on their lives and on society as a whole.

Would you like to start a small business & earn some money? This course will provide opportunities for you to identify and assess the qualities of entrepreneurship that contribute to successful entrepreneurial activities. Examine opportunities for innovation and initiative that reflect a range of techniques, characteristics and qualities required for successful entrepreneurial ventures.
The course consists of three components: theory component, venture component and the business plan component that are interrelated and interdependent. Because this is an activity-based course you will be required to spend extra time outside of class time for running business ventures and research for business plans.
Because learning is an active process, as a student in Film and Video 12, you will be engaged online in a range of activities that provide you with hands-on learning.
You will have access to a variety of software used as a vehicle to produce and share your own documentary. Like other learners in this course, you will use your voice, ideas and creativity to communicate a message about a modern social issue.
As you progress through the course, each module builds the technology skills and film making knowledge necessary to create your final product. You will be exposed to the world of film making through the three stages of production (pre-production, production and post-production).
You will work critically and collaboratively in real time to support your classmates in this virtual environment. As a student in this course, you will experience roles, explore careers and research historical film making as they progress through these stages. This course blends many subject areas and meets the criteria for either a Fine Arts credit or a Technology credit.
Communication is an active process where students learn to plan, explore and create a unique message. Multimedia is a modern vehicle that is used to communicate in a variety of different ways.
The online classroom provides an ideal environment for this technology rich course. Learners will progress through four modules where they heighten their critical awareness about the impact of text, time-based images, and sound.
Students actively deconstruct multimedia products in order to understand how to create an effective product of their own.
Each student will work critically and collaboratively in real time to support their classmates in this virtual environment.
Students are encouraged to use their voice, ideas and creativity as they produce multimedia products to covey important messages.

Physics is the branch of knowledge that studies the processes and structures of the natural world at the most fundamental level. Objects as small as atoms and as large as galaxies are investigated in an attempt to understand the underlying principles and structures. Physics is both descriptive and predictive: it can often explain how something works and prdict how its related technologies can be improved. The program is designed to challenge and engage students with a wide range of backgrounds to understand concepts and to apply their knowledge to new stuations. The program, through its many hands-on, intellectually stimulating experiences, enables students to see connections between physics and other sciences, and to see how physical principles underlie many of the seemingly unrelated facets of their everyday world.
